Volunteering in Malawi
Gifts to Presbyterians Sharing support short term volunteers with International Ministries. In January, Dr. Ian Persaud spent four weeks volunteering at Ekwendeni Hospital in Malawi. He assessed and treated patients, spent time in outpatient clinics, and taught medical students on a hospital rotation. He also offered teaching sessions to the physicians and clinical officers at the hospital. Ian shares, “I found it incredible to see what the healthcare workers were able to accomplish in spite of the many challenges they faced. It was incredible to play an active role in delivering healthcare in Ekwendeni, and to see firsthand the work being done in Malawi through The Presbyterian Church in Canada. ”
Next Sunday our worship service will take place at our church picnic at the Clarkson’s farm. Following that, during the months of July and August, we are taking a vacation. Our Elders are available to help with pastoral care needs, rental arrangements, however, we will not be conducting Sunday morning worship.
